The 2nd Runner-up of 2023 COOLEST PROJECT MALAYSIA

Recognising the growing threat of air pollution, particularly in areas of high traffic density, a team of high school students developed the innovative Pro-BOXCE system to reduce harmful emissions from large and aging freight vehicles.

The BOXCE system uses advanced pollution control technologies:

  • Uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to effectively reduce NOx and HC emissions.
  • Incorporates a HEPA filter to eliminate dust, mold and bacteria.
  • Activated carbon filter to remove residual petrol vapor, CO and other pollutants.
  • Automatic control system with sensors and central processing unit.
  • Collects detailed data for research and development, optimizing performance for various utility applications.

Its hardware components include a HEPA filter, activated carbon filter, DEF treatment box, fan system and control circuitry. In addition, its software includes a mobile application that links sensor kit data for collection, provides real-time emissions data, review of trip history, display of emissions graphs and notifications of system operating status.
