Smart wearable for the prevention of kyphosis
Instructed by: Nguyen Vu Trung, IT teacher
Developed by: Cao Van Phat, Le Thanh Dat (15 years old)
School: Vinh Trung Secondary School, Hau Gian Province
Nowadays, children and teenagers spend a lot of time on smart devices, leading to the problem of kyphosis among them. A team of students from Vinh Trung Secondary School in Hau Giang Province are developing a smart wearable to protect children from kyphosis and school violence, abuse and bullying.
This smart wearable has two main functions:
- Combats kyphosis: It monitors posture and alerts users to slouching, potentially preventing kyphosis. It also discourages night-time screen time which can contribute to poor posture.
- Enhances safety: It has an SOS button for emergencies and uses gesture recognition to identify dangerous situations even when the button cannot be pressed. Additionally, it also acts as a GPS locator for parents or guardians
